About This Domain

The technologies explored across this site do not just raise technical questions — they raise human ones. Hard, contested, high-stakes questions where reasonable people disagree and where the consequences of getting it wrong are significant. This domain collects those questions and frames them using the thinking tools the book provides.

These are not questions the book necessarily answers. They are questions the book equips you to think about more clearly. Each page presents a question that a smart, curious person might actually ask, draws on the book's frameworks and ethical themes to frame it, and connects to the specific technologies and developments that make it urgent.

This domain works in close partnership with Post-2018 Developments, which provides the technological context many of these questions arise from. It also draws heavily on the ethical themes in Responsible and Ethical Innovation and the thinking frameworks in Navigating the Future.
